Jennie Smales works within the ethos of ‘wabi sabi', or perfectly imperfect. Not only is this a label appplied to her own artwork, but also herself as a disabled artist. Jennie's disability affects the use of her hands, therefore there will always be small marks, highlighting the difficulty that went into making it, which tells a beautiful story of endurance.
