ROTHERHAM ROAR are delighted to announce they have been successful in securing funding through the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) to work in partnership to deliver the project SYMBIOSIS along the river Don in Rotherham and Doncaster.

Symbiosis - The Art of Living with Water is a new programme of bursaries, workshops and public events for artists, environmentalists and members of the public, exploring the theme of art, science and water through the relationships between Rotherham and Doncaster’s watercourses and the interconnected threats of flooding, the climate emergency, and the biodiversity crisis.

The programme will establish a Research Lab and Production Space at the nexus of arts and ecology at the ArtBomb venue, revitalising the high street (Hall Gate), creating a vibrant, interactive public space in the heart of Doncaster where residents, communities and organisations can work together to generate and ideas and create art that inspires action to address global change.

Our bursaries, participatory workshops and field trips will serve as an engine of inspiration, enabling the cross-fertilisation of the ideas from artists, environmentalists, scientists and citizen scientists to activate future collaborations. e.g, foragers, tech tinkers, urban explorers will brush shoulders with painters, empiricists and naturalists.
