Ciara
O’ROURKE
As a production designer of 5 years, working on successful BFI shorts on top of numerous narrative and commercial projects, Ciara O’Rourke has always had a strong love for strongly stylistic creative directions. Winning Best Production Design at the Women x Film 2023 Festival signposted a rapidly ascending career, alongside a BAFTA mentorship with designer May Davies.
But Ciara has always, since childhood, been a storyteller — building sofa forts with her dad, spinning tall tales into tactile worlds. Her directorial debut Dead Skin won Spirit of Independence funding, screening at festivals including Aesthetica, Leeds International, and FrightFest. It picked up Best SFX Makeup at Dead Northern 2023 as well as a streaming deal with horror channel Alter, streaming with over 80k to date.
