Loré
LIXENBERG

Loré Lixenberg, leader of The Voice Party (an opera and political party, standing in the UK 2019 election, the only political party you cannot join, it joins you) worked in comedy, physical-theatre and free-improvisation with Simon Munnery, Richard Thomas, Stewart Lee and Complicité.

Her pieces explore the intersectionality between digital, analogue and participatory worlds and their possibilities for new operatic forms, including ‘BIRD’, ‘PANIC ROOM' (The Singterviews), real-time opera installation ‘PRET A CHANTER', extended-voice dating app ‘SINGLR' and ‘theVoicePartyOperaBotFarm[myFuryIsMyMuse]. Most recently she transcribed and recorded the piano rolls of Conlon Nancarrow for voice, in her project, ‘NancarrowKaraoke'.

ArtBomb Project: PANIC ROOM: The Singterviews

The world is on fire. The Opera singer ‘Panic’ is in her panic room space shuttle at the end of the world. She gathers with her as many operas and music as she can to save, so that at least some fragments of the form will survive in space to be discovered. She picks someone to go with her to the end of the world, planet earth dies and everything on it becomes extinct. As she interviews the person she feeds them cake and wine as they make a peaceful trip over the event horizon of a black hole.

ArtBomb is Doncaster's experimental arts festival & pop-up art space — designed to provoke debate across current environmental, mental health and ecological thinking — in collaboration with the Unitarian Church.
