IRVINE & SPENCE:

Pernille Spence and Zoë Irvine began collaborating in 2015 under the name of Irvine & Spence. Their work is a synthesis of ideas, methods and mediums from their individual practices in sound, performance and video. Through a process of experimentation, close observation and audio-visual composition, their work is an evolution of an ongoing inquiry into precarity where they confront the pervasive notion of ‘borrowing against the future’. Embracing moments of absurdity their work carries a lightness and humour alongside darker subtexts.

They have exhibited work internationally including the Parthenón-Fríz gallery in Budapest, the Scottish Landscape Awards, the Aesthetica Art Prize, Alchemy Film & Moving Image Festival and the Ann Arbor Film Festival, where they won the prestigious Prix DeVarti Award.

ArtBomb is Doncaster's experimental arts festival & pop-up art space — designed to provoke debate across current environmental, mental health and ecological thinking — in collaboration with the Unitarian Church.
