A23a is a new collaborative project by Claire Robertson and Martin Christie. The aim of the project is to carve up and alter spoken word through technologies that were originally intended for creating music. The meaning of the words and phrases become part of a fragmented drifting soundscape involving the human voice and textural melody. Martin’s role to create and carve up the sounds is informed by his background in improvisation.
